Best Places in Halong Bay you must visit

Halong bay is one of the must visit place when you travel in Vietnam. Halong Bay has been attracting more and more visitor so far. Moreover, it is the home of thousands of islands, grottoes, caves and hundreds of beaches. Here come highlights of Halong we want to introduce you.

Sung Sot Cave

Ha Long Bay is famous for its beautiful rock formations and caves. Hidden in the rocks are beautiful caves associated with many miraculous legends such as Thien Cung, Dau Go Cave, Sung Sot Cave, Trinh Nu Cave, Tam Cung Cave. And Sung Sot cave (Surprising cave) is one of the most beautiful caves. Visiting Ha Long bay, you can not ignore it.

Historically, Sung Sot Cave was discovered in 1901 by the French, they were surprised by the variation in the cave, so the cave was named Grotte Des Surprises (cave of surprise, shock). From the pier of Bo Hon island, you will climb about 50 steep rock steps and then go down the next 20 stone steps to the cave, about 25 meters above sea level, hidden by lush foliage. From here, you can watch a calm and peaceful sea. When stepping into Sung Sot cave, everyone is overwhelmed by the magnificence of the world stalactites.

According to the introduction, Sung Sot cave has a total area of over 10,000m², with various stone stalactites and stalactites. The cave is divided into two main compartments, the entire front porch as a large theater. The ceiling is covered with a layer of natural velvet carpet, besides is countless clusters of glittering stalactites glittering. Cua Van – Van Gia Fishing Village

There are 4 fishing village in Halong Bay: Cua Van – Van Gia, Vung Vieng, Ba Hang and Cap La. Among them, Cua Van – Van Gia is the largest one. This fishing village is surrounded by mountain which is situated 20km away from the tourist boat wharf. Local people mainly earn their living by fishing and aquaculture.

We ensure that you will be attracted by little houses on boat. There are no crowded streets, no high buildings or even no electric lines. You will see only groups of little boats and rafts on the waves so you can call it “floating village”. Visiting village, you have chances to experience the local daily life and the traditional culture, customs of fishermen.

Cua Van Floating Cultural center with over 300sq.m has done well in collecting and introducing tool used to catch sea products by ancient people, the village’s folklore. You will know more about the lives of fishermen living on Halong bay. And this was the first project launched in the village.

To come to Cua Van fishing village, you can take a boat from Halong bay or from Lan Ha Bay if you depart from Ben Beo harbor. Go kayaking is a interesting way to visit the village, children floating school. And then from there, you can continue to visit Dark and Bright cave in which you can see a lot of colorful corals.

Cua Van – Van Gia village is a worthy place you should visit when you are in Halong Bay.

Titov Island

Mostly cruises in Halong Bay includes Titov Island in their itinerary. The island was named after the astronaut Gherman Stepanovich Titov who visited the island in 1962.  The island is one of the most perfect places for you to go swimming, kayaking and climbing.

Titov owns an small attractive beach. Titov beach is not big comparing to other beaches in Halong but it possesses fresh atmosphere, blue and clean water, smooth white sandbank with breath taking romantic landscapes.

You can climb on the top of the island and take a high angle panoramic view of Halong bay with stunning landscape, peaceful atmosphere…. The climb is definitely worth it. If you are exploring loves, you should not ignore to conquer the Titov top island.

Luon Cave

Another cave you should visit in Halong is Luon Cave which is located on Bo Hon island. You access the cave by using small bamboo boat or kayaking. Getting inside the cave via natural gate with beautiful stalactites on the ceiling, you reach a tranquil round lake formed by an enclosed group of lime-stone moutains. Under the calm water of the lake is vibrant life of many species like fish, crab, shrimp…

The colour of water, the clouds, the mountain form created the beauty of the cave. When coming to Halong Bay, you should visit Luon cave once is the thing you should do.

Lan Ha bay

Lan Ha bay is located in the south of Halong Bay featuring by the beauty of hundreds of islands with many interesting shapes. The most beautiful time in Lan Ha bay is autumn when it is not too hot with sunlight. You will absolutely enjoy relaxing and refreshing while boating or kayaking in the bay.
